The basketball court is a flat rectangular surface usually made out of wood with a basketball goal at each end.

At the professional (NBA/WNBA) and college (NCAA) levels, the size of the court is 94 feet long and 50 feet wide. For an international league, the size is 91.86 feet and 49.21 feet wide. A high school basketball court is 84 feet long and 50 feet wide.

The basketball goal (top of the hoop) is situated 10 feet above the ground.
