The Fan Zone - Making Drinks That Everyone Will Love

Hey there!

Are you normally the beverage maker when it comes to parties with your friends? Me neither. I simply say I like sweet drinks and wait for my drink order to arrive. So, what happens when you are in charge of the drinks at your “Ladies Who Lunch” Football Brunch? Well, you learn a few good drinks and stick with those. And, you use some tips and tricks to make simple drinks fun and memorable.

I know that it would be so easy to just pick up something from the store. Ok, do that! Don’t make this into a daunting task. Depending on your state, some grocery stores carry ready made frozen drinks as well as canned drinks. If you pop those into a cute, frosty glass your girls won’t mind at all.

If you feel like you want to make drinks but you are a little nervous, go with 1 - 2 - 3 mixed drinks. That means you simply add 2 or 3 juices and liquors and come up with a delicious drink.

2 parts orange juice, 2 parts pineapple juice and 1 part rum, with a splash of grenadine and some lemon lime soda, makes a Pineapple Breeze. It’s a very yummy drink and you control the flavors and strength of the drink by adding more of the juices that you like.

Appletini’s are a fan favorite. You take 2 parts sour apple schnapps, 2 parts vodka and 1 part sour mix. I personally add equal parts of all and a splash of lemon lime soda. Pour it in a cute glass and tada! The girls are happy.

Let’s back up. I said a cute glass. I do have quite a nice wine/beverage glass collection. If you don’t a glass collection and have no desire to start one, just jazz up a plain plastic cup. It will do the trick just fine.

Are you feeling a bit more creative? Are you familiar with gelatin shots? I’m not a huge gelatin fan but I bet some of the ladies at your brunch are. You can make gelatin shots in your team’s colors! How cute is that?! Just make your flavored gelatin according to the package but, instead of 1 cup of cold water, mix ½ a cup of cold water with ½ cup flavored vodka.

Add your gelatin to containers like these small, cute cups. Then refrigerate overnight. The next morning, add whipped topping.

Wine is a great standby. I always have a good bottle of wine chilled and ready for guests. And, a sparkling water or soda is good for those guests that don’t drink. Don’t forget about those folks.

You don’t have to go out of your way to make drinks that are crazy or difficult. I like the team color theme but you can just make what’s easy for you. Ask your friends what their favorite drinks are and go with those.
